MONGOLIA

5 MILLION STAR EXPERIENCE

9-18 August 2024

TRIP OVERVIEW

Mongolia, a paradise for adventure. A vast, pure and sparsely populated place that invites us to explore, to delve into its territories and its culture.

The cradle of one of the key peoples in the history of mankind, Mongolia is a country that treasures a wilderness that has changed little in recent centuries.

After each cold year, in summer, the snow melts and the paths reappear, or are redrawn by horses, 4×4 vehicles and? with the passage of our bicycles. Bridle paths, wide tracks and small trails wind through the steppe, through endless valleys, over high rocky peaks and over sandy dunes.

We invite you to get to know some of these places and to live the experience of cycling together through the heart of Mongolia.

During six stages and over 700 kilometres, we will explore an incredible land. We will sleep in the mythical Mongolian tents, enjoying comfortable beds, hot showers and beautiful dinners. We will take care of your luggage and everything else. All you will have to do is enjoy yourself while cycling.

THE TRACK

THE STAGES

Stage 01 — 80 km | 1360 m

The adventure begins in style, with an epic first stage in which we will cover 80 kilometres and 1400 meters of accumulated altitude gain. We set off from Ulaanbaatar with a transfer, and after 35 km we will take the track that will take us away from the city entering the overwhelming Mongolian wilderness via a series of dirt tracks. As we leave the familiar civilisation behind and enter the nature, we start to get used to these immense landscapes.
Our sight covers more and more distance.
Tonight we will sleep in our first Ger Camp under an incredible blanket of stars.
Dinner and breakfast included.

Stage 02 — 117 km | 990 m

If yesterday’s stage was a transition between urban and rural and a first contact with Mongolia, today’s stage immerses us fully in the immensity of the Mongolian landscape, leading us to explore these vast and beautiful spaces.

The second stage is a loop of 117 kilometres and 990 metres of accumulated elevation gain in which we will ride through a protected natural area, our first small peaks and a huge valley before returning to the ger camp, which will be waiting for us with all the comforts to rest from today’s adventure.

Dinner and breakfast included.

Stage 03 — 109 km | 920 m

On the third stage we will continue our journey into the interior of the country. For 109 kilometres we will cycle along the undulating roads that separate us from the second (and spectacular and remote) of our ger camps.

In the first half of the route we gain altitude until we reach 1555 metres above sea level. From this point, we will begin a long descent of about 40 kilometres, which will take us down to the Tyyn river valley.

Dinner and breakfast included.

Stage 04 — 130 km | 1020 m

The fourth stage is a beautiful loop that takes us to explore two spectacular rocky massifs where majestic eagles and wild horses will be watching us curiously as we pass.

Dinner and breakfast included.

Stage 05 — 143 km | 1340 m

In the fifth stage, the landscape changes, as does the type of terrain: we start to find sandbanks and lake areas.

We will cycle through the endless Mongolian landscape, crossing valleys and gradually gaining altitude.

Near the end of the stage, we reach Lake Tara and enter a curious and humid valley that leads us to the third Ger Camp of the trip, the one in front of the “Little Gobi”.

Dinner and breakfast included.

Stage 06 — 97,7 km | 780 m

The last stage is one of the ones we like the most on this trip. It is a sort of final party, where we ride through a sort of compilation of all the landscapes we have been cycling through during these days, including a few more surprises… We’ll start by passing over the river, crossing the road and entering a labyrinth of sandy paths that will lead us into the mountains. We’ll climb up a beautiful rocky valley and then plunge downhill on trails until we emerge in a huge cultivated valley.

Our last night of the trip will be properly enjoyed at the ger camp.

Dinner and breakfast included.
