FROM THE DOLOMITES TO VENICE – SISTERHOOD

21-27 September 2024

OVERVIEW

PA-Cycling launches SISTERHOOD, our new travel division by women, for women. We start with a really amazing trip:

Imagine cycling from the Altopiano di Asiago, on its impressive dirt roads dating back to the World War I era, down to the Venice lagoon. From the Alps to the most beautiful city in the world…Venice! It will be the trip of a lifetime!
Move between forest trails and dirt roads, from cycle paths along placid rivers to secondary roads with countless opportunities to stop for wine & food tasting, all the time discovering century-old villages and cities where you can taste the best of Italian lifestyle.

Visit the walled city of Marostica and Bassano del Grappa with its world-famous spirit. Cycle across Asolo, selected as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and continue along the Prosecco wine hills up to the beautiful city of Treviso. Not far away you’ll encounter the lagoon where you’ll discover Lio Maggiore, a land of fishermen and farmers, and cross the sandbank on one of the most beautiful cycle paths in Europe. On the last day you will have the opportunity to visit Burano, the Venetian island famous for the bright colors of its houses and its delicious pastries.

You can also rent a gravel bike or e-bike with us, and it will be waiting for you at the beginning of the trip, so you can travel light and without worrying about the bike transportation.

THE STAGES

21 September

Arrival at Hotel Col de Sole. Bicycle preparation. Briefing.

22 September – STAGE 1

Altopiano Loop – 49,5 km – 950 m

An amazing mountain ride where you will discover some of the most iconic places of the Altopiano di Asiago as Mt. Cengio with its incredible mule track suspended in the void.

23 September – STAGE 2

Altopiano – Monfumo – 89 km – 1200 m

Cycling through endless forests we go downhill to the tine walled village of Marostica, then to Bassano for a Grappa tasting at Palladio’s famous wooden bridge, also along little villages and singletracks and then to Monofumo, for a glorious rest at the agriturismo.

24 September – STAGE 3

Monfumo – Quinto di Treviso – 88 km – 830 m

From the sculptures of Canova preserved in Possagno, we head east to cross the River Piave, sacred to the homeland for the sacrifice of Italian soldiers during the First World War, and enter the Prosecco wine region.

Wine tasting at a prestigious cellar and then climb Montello’s white and dusty roads, up to the elegance of Badoere where we will rest and enjoy an aperitif. The sources of the River Sile will show us the way to the end of the stage, at a century-old inn in Quinto di Treviso.

25 September – STAGE 4

Quinto di Treviso – La Barena – 65 km – 70 m

A relaxing stage with plenty of time to explore the enchanting city of Treviso and tour its best taverns, enjoying local food and great wines.

We will then follow the course of the River Sile to the northern part of Venice’s lagoon, along small islands and tiny strips of land that help to distinguish water from sky.

26 September – STAGE 5

Stage 5: La Barena – Punta Sabbioni 31 km – 20 m

We will leave this magnificent agritourism where we have had such a good rest, and we will return towards Jesolo and, from there, we will continue through Lido di Jesolo and Cavallino until we reach Punta Sabbioni.

Once in the saddle again, we will cycle with the sea and the beach on our left, and the lagoon, fisherman villages and taverns on our right.

Landing in Punta Sabbioni will not be the end of the tour, but the beginning of a new amazing enogastronomic experience.

27 September

Transfer back to the Hotel Col de Sole, from where the tour has started
